Tips to Help you Pick the right Winter Coat

December is here – and so is the rain, wind and cool weather. What a great time to pick out a new winter coat. With these tips you will not only stay warm and dry – you will also look fantastic!

  1. Think Quality – go for a wool or cashmere blend – synthetic fibers just don’t hold up as well. Consider Fit: Always Shaped not Boxy, the length should be between thigh and knee!

  2.  Styles: Belted works best for tall hourglass, A-line coats are great for Round shapes, Single breasted with no pockets fit everyone, Double breasted only if you’re not too busty.

  3. Go Classic – a classic trench coat in a neutral color will be the most versatile coat you will ever buy. It looks great with jeans or a suit and you can accessorize with scarves, belts or boots! Don’t forget we live in Portland – make sure your coat has a hood or look for a stylish rain hat☺

  4. One Trendy Jacket a Season: to update your winter wardrobe buy one fun color, quilted sporty or trendy chic coat – try a fall color that flatters your type! Buy a shorter coat to elongate your legs – buy a longer coat to elongate your torso!
